God – Things Happening

As you know, our world is hurting and desperately needs to know the reality of God and his love! Anyone can turn over a new leaf and try hard to be good enough, but when God shows up, God-things happen! When God shows up, the confusion ceases, and the multitudes run to experience the love of God being made known through the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking, and the dead being raised to life! Oh, yes! When the Holy Spirit is in control, wonderful and glorious God-things happen!

Matthew 11:2-5  When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?”  Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

God longs to show his healing and delivering power to those who are hurting, broken, and bound. God is looking for those who will live in intimacy with Him so that the world can experience his reality!

Acts 14:3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

Acts 5:15-16 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.

Hebrews 13:8 tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” We are in the age of grace and the age of God’s kingdom. Apostle Paul wrote, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power.” 1 Cor 4:20

God is not looking for talent or ability – he is looking for availability! God desires to move mightily through those who are willing to believe him! God is searching for true worshipers – those who genuinely want to be on his team and are willing to lose everything for his sake! Besides Jesus, one of the most outstanding examples of complete devotion to Christ was the apostle Paul. Here’s what he wrote.

Philippians 3:7-11  But whatever were gains to me; I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in a Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

The power of God flows through those who live in intimacy with God! The prophet Daniel said, “Those who know their God will be strong and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32 Knowing or being intimate with God is the secret to a life that displays his power and glory! Many people throughout history walked in intimacy with God and therefore were vessels God used to reveal his power and glory.

Oh, my dearest friend, may you be drawn into the beautiful life of intimacy with God? God is excited about what he will do in you and through you! I can assure you of this; the deeper you go into intimacy with God, the more you will experience the wonder of…
