Why You Do What You Do
So, here’s the question for today; why do we do what we do? People often say they do what they do because of how they were raised or what they have experienced. Though these factors are important and do make a difference, at the root of why we do what we do is the word believe!
It is more important what I think of myself than what others think of me because, as the Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7 What I believe about me is not only about how I feel; what I believe about me changes how others view me. You see, your idea (eye-dea) becomes your eyes! The way you view yourself is how others will view you. Those who understand this truth and apply its purpose will see great victory in their life!
Those who live by God’s faith live by what God believes about them. What is most powerful about this principle is that when you believe what God believes about you, you will bring into your natural experience God’s great purpose for your life.
2 Thessalonians 1:11 “With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.”
3 John 2 I wish above all things, my brothers, that you would prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers.
The prosperity of your mind, will, and emotions is the key to the prosperity of your life! Those who humble themselves to receive the reality of God’s crazy love for them will find themselves stepping into a scenario where heaven invades their earthly life. According to the word of God, I can assure you of this – the most intimate and passionate thought in the heart of God is his thoughts about you. Consider this powerful thought – God said through the prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Jeremiah 1:5
Those who dissect the Bible from beginning to end will conclude that the whole of the Bible is about Jesus. But what is even more mind-blowing is that Jesus is all about you. If what I am saying is true, then the fullness of who we are to God and what he has for us is earth-shattering!
The truth of who we are to God and in God is wonderful beyond description! My dearest friend, you are everything to God! If you are humble enough to receive it, you are the star of God’s eternal show! God did not send Jesus to merely be an example for you but rather an example of you! When God sees you, he sees Jesus! Do you believe that?
Hebrews 11:6 lets us know that without faith, it is impossible to please God. The reason why this is true is that God knows that unless you believe what he believes about you, you will never experience the abundant life he longs for you to enjoy! Oh, that you would know more fully how valuable you are and how valid your existence is!
When God sent Jesus to deliver you from the inferior mentality given to you through the law of performance, he did it because he was in love with you! God Almighty lives inside of you, and there is no place in all of the universe he would rather be! You are his permanent and favored address!
