THE SECRET POWER OF PRAYER
Do you know that there is a secret place of God’s power and protection you can tap into through prayer? King David said, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
Have you ever caught yourself in a state of worry and thought, why am I not praying? I certainly have. There is no doubt that praying is a far better solution to a problem than worry! Spending time in prayer is what releases supernatural power to help you in times of need. It has been rightly penned, “The secret to all failure is the failure to pray in secret.” Wow! Without a doubt, worrying is counterproductive; it is destructive in every way! When the haunting voices of impending doom are screaming at you, it is so tempting to be anxious and worry. Still, prayer alone will be the secret that gives you the wisdom to navigate the tumultuous waters of life’s situations.
Ps 32:6 Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
James 5:13-18 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again, he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
Maybe you are in a difficult situation right now. In that case, you can be confident that it will be prayer that will bring you the protection and provision that you need! I have always found it interesting that we have no record of Jesus teaching his disciples to preach; however, we have multiple instances of him teaching his disciples to pray!
God is calling you to a higher life today! Maybe the whole purpose of your current situation is to train you to be more successful in the powerful life of prayer. Maybe you have allowed your prayer life to take a backseat. Perhaps it’s time to let prayer be your steering wheel instead of your spare tire! I believe, if you do, you will find, like Moses, that you need only to be still to see the salvation of God! (Exodus 14:13) Just as God, through the prophet Jahaziel, spoke to the people of Judah, so God is speaking to you! Take a look…

God is looking for someone who will believe him enough to press in and receive the victory through prayer!
