TRUE PRAYER

Those who live a life of true prayer always ends up with a life that displays the nature and love of God! When you spend time with him, you become like him! The word of God declares that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray. Lk 5:16 For Jesus, this was not an exercise of religiosity, but rather precious moments of intimacy with his Father!

Intimacy with God is not only a profoundly incredible experience but also prepares you for all that is ahead in your life by giving you the heart and wisdom of God. Apostle Peter said, "The end of all things is near. Therefore, be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1Pet 4:7-8

One of the telltale signs of a person who lives a life of real prayer is the act of covering the sins of those around them. Why? It is because they obtain the heart of God, and he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked! Lk 6:35

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Those who experience religiosity and not true prayer will display a life of gossip, slander, and judgment. I have known people who spend a lot of time in prayer but are some of the most unloving people you will meet. Why? It is because their prayer is a religious work that is not based on resting in God’s righteousness and intimacy with him.

Apostle James says, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1Jn 4:7–8

One cannot be intimate with God without being filled with the love of God! Our world is in desperate need of the love of God, and we, as the body of Christ, are the agents to release this love from heaven! We are like a bank account – the more we have deposits in the account, the more we can give away.

1 Jn 4:16–17 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world, we are like Jesus.

There must be a significant deposit before there can ever be a significant withdrawal.  Love does not come from trying hard; it comes from God! You will never work it up – you must soak it up.  You can be sure that there is no substitute for spending time in God's presence. You need it! the world needs it! Yes, it is high time for…
