WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

The love of God so profoundly impacted apostle Paul that he was willing to go to extremes to let other people know about it. One of the most compelling writings regarding evangelism is found in his letter to the Corinthian church.

2 Corinthians 5:13-21 13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

16 So from now on, we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are, therefore, Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Apostle Paul was saying that if he acted like he was out of his mind, it was because of the love of Christ that compelled him. He was convinced that Jesus had died for every person and that every person had the opportunity to experience God’s love. He said that truth made him look at people differently. He no longer looked at people from a worldly point of view. He realized that if anyone is in Christ, he has become entirely new; the old has gone, and the new has come.

The love of God is reaching out to the world to bring them back to himself. He wants us to Harold the good news that he is no longer counting men’s sins against them! Wow! He has given us this incredible ministry of reconciliation as though God were making his appeal through us.

Wow! Do you realize how deeply in love God is with the people you and I are in contact with every day! Do you feel his heartbeat? Can you sense him wanting to use you to proclaim the good news of his love and forgiveness? God wants to make his appeal to this world through you… Are you available? Is there someone that you could share his love with today? One of the wisest things you will ever do is use what you have to let people know the truth about Jesus!
