Not an Option
There is a song that we sing in church every now, and then that says, “Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I’ve ever done.” Without a doubt, the single, most important choice of my entire life was to surrender to Christ! There is nothing that has transformed me more than the transforming power of his love and grace towards me. I have indeed found out that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! John 14:6 Jesus is our access to the very light and life of heaven.
John 1:4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
Without a doubt, the worst thing any person or nation could ever do is to decide to live without God! The Bible declares that only the nation or people whose God is the Lord will be blessed!
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. NIV
Psalm 144:15 Happy is the nation of whom this is true; happy are the people whose God is the LORD! GNT
The Bible records the story of the great war between Israel and Judah. The Bible says that Israel’s king destroyed Judah’s army because Judah had abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors.
2 Chronicles 28:6 In a single day, Pekah, son of Remaliah, Israel’s king, killed 120,000 of Judah’s troops, and all of them experienced warriors because they had abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors. NLT
This should be a stark warning to those who are spiritually living on the fence! Though God longs to bless us more than we can even understand, if we choose to go our own way and abandon him, he cannot stop us because he has given us a free will. The only thing stronger than God is our ability to choose. The Holy Spirit wrote through the apostle Peter saying, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:1.
It is God’s heart and will that no one would perish and spend eternity without him, but some will. Though God longs for all to change their minds about his grace and love, some will be separated forever from him because they refuse to believe. The good news found in Jesus Christ is the lifeline for you and this world! Abandoning God is like abandoning your only source of air to breathe – death would be inevitable! We must believe and know that God is in love with us, and true purpose and significance are found in him!
I sense an urgency in my spirit! I believe we are in the last days, and there is no time to waste! Because of his crazy love for us, God sent his only son to pay the price for our sin! Now is the time to be fully surrendered to his love and recklessly abandoned to his purposes! Now is the time to open your heart more than ever to receive God’s love for you! You can be absolutely certain that God is not trying to take from you; instead, you can rest the fullness of your trust in the fact that he is longing to give you everything that he is! You are everything to him, and only believing that truth taps you into its power! My dearest friend, may you fully settle in your mind today that living without God is…Not an Option
