What You Think about the Most

Over time, one thing that has become abundantly clear to me is that we become what we think about the most. Because our thoughts have so much power, the Bible is replete with Scriptures that deal with the subject of right-thinking. Our thoughts are God’s conduit for manifesting the kingdom of God on earth. Apostle Paul wrote, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2Cor 4:18. Our thoughts must be fixed on what is unseen because the only way to cause the unseen to manifest into the visible realm is to visualize it on the inside. And that is why apostle Paul declared, “We live by faith and not by sight.” 2Cor 5:7.

Setting our minds on what is unseen opens the door for the kingdom of God to flow through us – this is the life of faith. “And without faith, it is impossible to please God.” Heb 11:6. “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see.” Heb 11:1. Without a doubt, what we behold is what we become. When we fix our spiritual eyes upon what God has declared about us, what he has declared about us will become our life.

Vision is seeing where you’re convinced you’re going. Did you hear that? Let me say that one more time – Vision is seeing where you’re convinced you’re going. If you know where you’re going, you can get there. If you can see the invisible, you can do the impossible.

In Genesis chapter 12, God had told Abraham, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:2-3. It would seem that this would’ve been enough for Abraham, but God knew he needed more, so, in Genesis 15, he told Abraham, “Look up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be. Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Genesis 15:5-6. This is so powerful! God gave him something natural to look at every night to remind him of the blessing coming to him from the unseen world.

Later on, after Abraham had obeyed God by taking his son Isaac to the top of a mountain to sacrifice him, the Lord came to him and said, “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring, all nations on earth will be blessed because you have obeyed me.” Gen 22:16-18.

Now, God had given Abraham something he could look at both day and night; the sand during the day and the stars at night. Why? Because the enemy will do everything he possibly can to get our eyes off God’s dream for our lives. God knew that Abraham would need to keep the vision for his life in front of him day and night. We know that Abraham, against all odds, chose to believe God and ended up receiving the promise of God!

Rom 4: 18-21  Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” d 19Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20Yet, he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

The only way to be fully persuaded of what God has told you is to surrender to those words of truth and keep them before you day and night!

My dearest friend, what has God spoken to you? What has he declared about you? Have you made a habit of keeping it in front of you day and night? It is of utmost importance that you keep his thoughts and words before you because, without a doubt, you will become…
